Dedications
I would like for everyone to pick a song to dedicate to Megan. It can be anything you want. Your favorite song, a song you think she would like, a song you think is pertinent, whatever.
I will compile the songs into a cd and burn it for her (and you, if you like).
If you pick something super-obscure that I can't find at the library or itunes, I'd appreciate it if you could share an mp3 of it with me.

Happy Birthday Megan!!!
You know her, you love her. She is a quiet observer in the blogosphere, but when she does say something, you know that she has been listening and cares for you. But perhaps I am a little biased since she's my wife! Anyway, most of our closest friends and almost all of our friends who know how much our lives suck right now are dispersed around the country (and world).
Since we can't all get together, I'd like to host a virtual birthday party for Megan's 35th birthday on Wednesday, November 5th. I hope you can come!

Revolution is just a t-shirt away
I found this Billy Bragg video on You-Tube. It is the video of the song that Megan named her blog after - Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards by Billy Bragg. I don't know if she's ever seen this video, or if she has, I bet it's been years. I love how Billy intermingles silliness with socialism. Don't let the foolishness get in the way of the words.
There are actually a ton of live recordings of this song out there, too. Most of the time he modifies the lyrics to what is going on the in world. Check it out sometime.
